The Life of 'Praying' Hyde

Even though he was known as 'Praying' Hyde, his real name was John Hyde. He was born in Carrolton, IL in 1865. Although we don't know much of his family, we do know his father was a minister. John was a very intelligent person, and because he was so smart, for his first job he was offered a teaching position in his alma mater. When it came down to it, he didn't feel that that was what God wanted him to do, so he declined. He ended up setting sail for India, in spite of becoming a missionary. There is so much we can learn from John Hyde. His love for others was endless and he always wanted to fulfill God's plan for his life. He prayed constantly for others, even his enemies. That's something that I have a problem with and I'm sure most of us have a problem with that too. Fulfilling God's plan for his life in India, he had to leave suddenly. He became very very sick and had to return back to America. He died because he prayed so much for others. Now, I know you're thinking "How can you die by just praying for others"? John was just so committed and prayed so hard for others. He actually found out he was suffering from a brain tumor around 1911. He had to leave India once more, and it was shortly after he passed away. We can take so much from the life of John Hyde. We should really strive to be more like him every day in every way possible. His dedication to prayer is so inspiring and can really change your life. Instead of getting mad or try to figure things out by yourself when you're in need, learn to go to God in prayer. Talking to God is the only way you'll really receive His perfect will for your life. It'll take a little while, but everything is possible. So, start and try today to be a 'Praying' Hyde no matter what situation you're in! :)
